It is not too late to write out New Year Resolutions. I try to keep mine close in order to keep going and maintain them all the way until December. The secret is to give yourself attainable goals. Check out Maria of Tigrest Travel Blog’s attainable resolution below and be inspired to consider Switching Travel Styles too.

Plan Travel and Consider Switching Travel Styles

More from Maria…

This year I’m going to change my travel style. After few successful attempts to switch from city travel to nature travel, I came to realize I love spending time in national parks. Last year I went on several nice short treks (Cinque Terre in Italy, Masca walk in Tenerife), so this year I am planning longer hikes. First, I will be exploring my home country in more depth – all the hidden hiking routes, paths, maybe even join a guided 2 day winter hike. In early summer we will be heading to Slovakia Mountains for a full week of exploring High Tatras, ascending some peaks and exploring mountain lakes. Finally, in October I am planning a 2 week trek in Himalayas, Annapurna National park. This will be a great test of my skills and endurance. I have never been to very high mountains, but really excited to go. The feeling you get after all the effort is hard to describe and so worth it in the end!

In order to achieve that I will force myself to finally go to gym and work out at least twice per week. It’s difficult to keep motivation up, but having such goals and trips already booked makes it much easier and more enjoyable.

Another resolution is to take a longer road trip in the summer. Traveling by car is exhausting, but also very rewarding. The best part is being able to explore faraway places and not depend on local public transport. In Europe, you can see many countries during one trip, change your plans as you go, even sleep in your car if you have to. We are planning a trip to Slovakia Mountains, this is around 1000 km from where I live. It’s going to be challenging trip, especially if we will be covering it in one day. However, it’s going to be a good way to test out my abilities and patience, so looking forward to it already.
